Wezzie’s path through ALX was not linear. She initially enrolled in Software Engineering, had to defer due to mental health challenges, and when she couldn’t complete the next cohort either, she felt genuinely discouraged.

What brought her back was the ALX emphasis on grit the idea that even when things are hard, you keep going. She enrolled in the AI Starter Kit, pushed herself to finish, then applied for AI for Developers. Through bouts of depression, she kept reminding herself of that lesson: stay strong and keep going.

Today Wezzie works as a Network Operations Engineer at Airtel Money Malawi and has applied to the Freelancer Academy to learn how to monetize her skills. ALX didn’t just teach her technology it changed her mindset, taught her resilience, and showed her what it looks like to keep building even when life makes it hard.
